OZ CLUBS
There is no place like home when you actually live in the land of OZ, Ozarks that is!  Oz Kids Clubs are newly formed and dedicated in memory of my quite amazing  Mother Patti Jan Carroll-Bower, Princess of Ely O'Carroll. Mother loved children and loved working with children. In 1960 she wrote and starred in a Movie for the March of Dimes working with children who were Polio Victims and teaching a young polio victim how to bowl. Mother helped with the Miss Texas Pageants. She set up disabled artists shows and opened her own art studio in Arlington, Texas.

Mother put a real  telephone in one girls Iron lung so she could call her friends.  She worked with children's art, and girl scouts. Mother came to school and kids thought she looked like Mary Poppins but really believed it when she bought ice cream during lunch visit for the whole class.Mother was an inspiration showing what a little care can do to produce productive children, full of laughter and fun. Mother had a strong sense of fairplay and never liked bullying or meaness to others.  Once she opened a children's art show in Arlington, Texas on the Cedar fences surrounding our subdivision. It was such a hit with the kids parents, and families driving by often pulled over to view the childrens artwork displayed on the fences.  Mother had her limits though, as in the time she made me stop playing war games with the boys after recieving a phone call that I was laying in the curb of the street with my bloomer showing and a play machine gun.  That was the day she called me in, and placed a blue towel around my neck and painted a red cross on a paper nursing hat. She instructed me I was to take care of the troops (boys) and gave me sack lunches to dole out. Everyone was happy.  The boys liked me a little better since I wasn't shooting them anymore or helping the girls win war games.

While Mother died an untimely death at the age of 54, all her enthusiasm and love for children was passed on to me and is the basis for Oz Kids and Co. .  Oz Kids Clubs are named for the Ozarks where they primarily are housed.  We also maintain the spirit of The Wizard of Oz, since he only lives down the road in Branson.
